Beginner Tips
- The color and styling is entirely controlled by your active page theme. You simply choose from a range of built-in elements - Heading 1, heading 2, heading 3, heading 4, paragraph, etc. And this will ensure your Parent Link matches the rest of the page, while giving you some presentation control.
- If you want the Parent Page block to appear on multiple pages, add it to a site-wide global area. The content and link for the block will adjust dynamically. If your theme doesn't have a global area where you want it, read this quick guide. Here is an example snippet of PHP code to add a global area (called "Article Footer") to your theme template file:
Advanced Tips
-
If using an SVG icon, the color will not be automatically adjusted to match the text. If you need to recolor your SVG icon, it is recommended to do that before uploading it to the File Manager.
-
Add a CSS class to the text or wrapping DIV element that will match your active theme. The 2 examples below use the btn btn-primary and shadow CSS classes (from Bootstrap).
- If your active theme uses Bootstrap (such as the default "Atomik" theme), you can access all the Bootstrap CSS utilities, such as background, borders, colors, shadows, spacing, and more. These can be entered in the Add CSS Class to Text or Add CSS Class to Wrapper fields. For example: p-3 for padding, text-light for white text, shadow for box-shadow, etc. Multiple CSS class values are separated by a space, such as text-light shadow.
Installation
This is a basic block, and no extra page attributes or Dashboard pages are installed.
FAQs
It's recommended to place the block in a Global Area within your theme. This could be a sidebar or footer or bottom of an article. The parent page name and link will dynamically change across your website.
Use check the Stretch Full Width - Wrapper checkbox on the Advanced tab within the editor interface. The available space will depend on the editable area within your theme.
